Yes, you read that correctly. Not only does FEMA have a youth-oriented website, they still have a page up for Y2K!

Did you know? FEMA stands for Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Slick graphics, FEMA. Wait, am I going crazy or is that Y2K/eclipse image trademarked? Apparently Y2K had a logo and I never even knew about it.
As a survivor of this traumatic event, I am glad to see that it hasn’t been forgotten. It’s important that children learn the horrible truth about the Y2K bug.* Speaking of which, it seems that FEMA managed to get a photograph of the little devil:

I wish this was Y2K.
If you are still preparing for Y2K fallout, FEMA has some sound advice:
FEMA recommends that all families be prepared at all times. [...] That means having food and water for three days, flashlights and batteries, battery-powered radio and other important things in a disaster supply kit. FEMA is treating Y2K just like any other kind of possible disruption. You should, too!
Good thing I always keep these things handy. Stay safe!

Don't forget to pack your sweater vests.
*The horrible truth: It was the biggest let-down of 8th grade.
